A Wrinkle In Time

This book is about a girl who is different. She hates herself for being different. Her father is away on business and it is really hard for her and her mom, twin brothers, and youngest brother. Everyone talks about him and how she and her youngest brother are so different. They meet some strange people that help her to know that she is special. Yah that is as far as i got.

Eclipse...Again....

okay, i watched twilight and for some reason, watching that movie made me realize that i had forgotten much of what happened in the book. so i went to the library and went to borrow the book, but when i went, only eclipse and breaking dawn were available. then that made me realize that i forgot what happened in the other books too! so i borrowed eclipse and am now reading it for the second time. at every page, memories of the first time i read the book come flooding into my mind. i'm glad that i'm reading it again. to anyone who has not yet read the wonderful entertainment/novel series known as twilight: YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!! READ IT!!!!!

Evil Genius

M'kay. I am reading a book called Evil Genius, by Catherine Jinks. It is about a boy named Cadel, (who is unfortunately blond and blue-eyed, like every other character in every other book everywhere) and he is a super genius. His father is an evil scientist who once planned to destroy all of the "inferior" people, leaving behind only the few people in possesion of "supergenes" before he was thrown in prison. Haha. Cadel goes to a college made by him called the Axis Institute, where he learns the art of evil-ness. Lying, disguise, forgery, and all that other good stuff. But he is beginning to have some doubts about the school. You'll have to read it to find out what else happens. But not right now, because I have the only copy.

My Brother Sam is Dead

My Brother Sam is Dead by James Lincoln & Christopher Collier

Set during the Revolutionary War, this book is about a boy named Tim Meeker whose brother, Sam, is fighting with the Patriots against the Lobsterbacks(British). Tim's father is a Tory or pro British and doesn't approve of Sam fighting with the Patriots. Tim doesn't know whose side he's on since he doesn't understand what the war is about. The ending is rather ironic but also very tragic. It's a have to read book for anyone with a thirst for history.

the babysiting wars

This book is about a girl named Kaitlyn, who babysits a lot of kids and all the kids love her. But when another girl named Nola, comes and starts to steal all of her customers she decided to take her babysitting to a higher level. Before she used to just babysit, but then she decided to to a cleaning service while she was at the house too. One day she got a call from the richest person in her town, and she was asked to babysit their kids. She thought that it would be a great opportunity to babysit the kids. While she was going there she thought that the kids would be very well-behaved. When she got there she saw the two kids sitting there nicely on the couch. When the parents left the kids became rascals. They were writing all over the chairs, bringing the dirty dog into the house, and overflowing the tub. She realized that she needed help and called Nola. When Nola got there it was as if she was in total control of the kids. The kids listened to her and cleaned every inch of the house. When Kaitlyn heard the car coming up the drive way she told Nola to run out the back door. After they paid her she went outside and looked for Nola, she was at the bottom of the drive way waiting for her. While they were walking home Kaitlyn found that Nola was jealous of her because all the kids loved her. The next day at school Kaitlyn started to talk to Nola more. As weeks went by Kaitlyn and Nola became best friends.

Elsewhere

Liz is 15, about to turn 16 pretty soon is psyched because she could get her driver's license. But, one day (three months before her birthday) she was banged and killed in a car crash. She woke up on a ship. She was sharing a room with a girl named Thandi. Thandi seemed to have a bullet hole in the back of her head which was really abnormal to Liz. But, Liz wasn't so normal herself! She was bald. It turned out that she was on the boat to a heaven called Elsewhere. In this special place, "dead" life was different. Instead of ageing you age backwards. Although this is the kind of ageing process that goes on in Elsewhere, it is a lot like earth. Some artists continue their artwork there, Marylin Monroe is a psychiatrist, etc. Plus, Elsewhere has music, books, artworks, etc. This book is filled sorrow and hope that she would get to connect with her family to leave her proper goodbyes. Will she get this chance? or will she never speak to family again?

The Pact

The Pact tells about the Golds and Hartes (two close family/neighbors). For 18 years they've been close enough to be counted as one entire family. So, there is no question why Chris Hartes and Emily Golds are more than just friends! This heartwarming story takes a turn when one night Emily Golds is found dead with a bullet in her head. She was found dead with Chris. He was injured but he wasn't dead. He tried to tell the detectives that the reason why this happened was because it was a suicide pact between him and Emily. This heartrending story also involves love and its 1st loses and 2nd loses. Lovely Bones is a mix of romance, mystery, and friendship!

The Telling Pool

For, he has seen the secrets of the Telling pool and knows he is the only one that is able to draw forth exaliber, a fabled sword that brought peace. One problem she wants to used the sword for evil.....will Rhodri prevail or dying trying???? You'll have to read it to find out....

This book is everything you would want in a book, its part comedy, part love story and its just a great book!!! Christian is just a commoner in thes story but he is in love with princess Marigold. He lives in a cave with a troll and he's no match for royalty. Queen Olympia is scheming to take over the kingdom and only Chistian can stop her. Will he be able to stop her in time??? Read the Book and find out.

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows

I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when it first came out, but I decided recently to read it again! This is the most recent installment of the Harry Potter series. In the beginning, Fleur and Bill get married. At the party, Death Eaters and Ministy people burst in. Harry, Ron, and Hermione leave quickly and begin their search for Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes. Horcruxes are items that have a fragment of soul encased in them. Harry, Ron, and Hermione destroy many Horcruxes, and in the end, Harry has to battle Voldemort. Does he live to tell the tale??? I guess you'll have to read it to find out!

Maddie starts get get a life that she would like, but still wonders if she will ever go somewhere she can always call home.

In this book the story tells about a girl named Deenie who is known as the prettiest girl in her school and everyone thinks that she should and will become a model. Things were going ok for her just like any regular teenagers life until she is told that she has to were a brace from her neck to her hips. When she saw the brace she screamed and yelled "I don't want to wear that...". Deenie who never worried about her looks and who was such a beautiful girl now never wanted to go to school again. She worried about what she would look like, what everyone would think of her, and how she would ever get through this. At the end of the book everything ended fine and Deenie finally learned to deal with the brace.

This was a good book and I would recomend it to others.

Everyone knows the story of Pocahontas right? Well, that is exactly what this book is about. The only difference is that this book has a little more detail than we know. Still, this book tells the story of pocahontas and her tribe with her father the great chief Powhatan and pocahontas and the English settlers and Captain John Smith. In the book when she meets the English settlers and John Smith everything is different for her and he is adopted into her tribe. But for Pocahontas things and choices are getting harder and harder for her to make. So, you can see that the title fits in with the story because Pocahontas has the double life, one with her tribe and the other with the English settlers, but does she choose.... NO...... she is then kidnapped by the settlers and forced to live as one of them.

I would recomed this book to others.

This book is a great read! It's the sequel to the faerie wars by Herbie Brennan, a great fiction author. This book continues with the luminous villain lord Hairstreak plotting against the main characters: Pyrgus who’s about to become purple emperor, Holly Blue, and Henry who returns to the faerie realm just in time to see that everything’s changed! But what, you'll have to read it to find out.

I love this BOOK! I read this book before but never got to finish it. I love this book because it is about girls that go through problems like me. and other things. An there are also awesome stories that I can relate to. It is an awesome chick flick. YOu girls should read it.

Feb. This book is so awesome!

Well there is this book called. Sister of the iris. or something like that. and when i read it. I got HOOKED! i mean really. it was about this girl name Dalila. and she has these awesome mysterious powers. and like she goes home school. just to keep it a secret. she lives with her uncle that teaches her that. An he is really strict so she has a bodyguard. But then there is someone to get her! So watch for the book sister of the iris. try reading. it is so intresting. me and my friend tried to find the book again, but we couldnt find it! so try looking for it

The Wizard Heir by Cinda Williams Chima

In this sequel to The Wizard Heir a boy named Seph is sent to a boarding school called the Havens. He always goes to different schools. Why, because he's a wizard! No one has trained him so he doesn't know how to use his powers and if he's angry or something things go wrong like his best friend was killed in a fire by him. So he finds out that the "alumni" at the school are all wizards! They are willing to train him but he has to link to the leader, Leicester. But when he refuses he starts having nightmares that are sent by Leicester! Leicester killed his friend Trevor for trying to help him and then he meets Jason who teaches him some stuff then Jason tries to get out and then is killed! What will happen to Seph? Will he ever make it out?

This heart warming book is about a boy named Sam who lived and helped around with their family business that they ran to earn money to support their family so they could live. they also owned a farm in the back of their business where they got some of their supplies to sell in the shop. Their mother would make some rags for working businesses that they would use to wipe down their hands and dirty equipment. They would travel with cot that they owned to trade with people to exchange for beer. It was really hard to get because their were these street cowboys that would wander around and killing people to get things from them and in this story Sam's father gets taken by the cowboys and they think he gets killed but he is not sure their thinking if their just holding him as a hostage. But to find out more read this heart warming book about this little family that either gets put back together or pulled apart by killing more members of the family.

It come back as a silver spider. He calls the spider Arianwen. She spun a cobweb in Gwyn's room and he could see a beautiful city. Children emerge to play in the snow and the sound of there voices carries into Gwyn's room. All of a sudden his mom comes into the room and poof the cobweb vanishes. Well i loved this book and i hope that you will read it and enjoy it to.

A Countess Below Stairs

So, hopefully this post will bring me on the field trip. Anyway, as you can see, I am writing about a very good book by Eva Ibbotson called A Countess Below Stairs. It is about a young Russian countess (der) named Anna who finds herself penniless after the Russian Rebellion. In an attemtpt to get more money to support her unwell mother, she takes on a job as a servant in the house of the earl of Westerholme, hiding her true identitiy as an aristocrat. She begins to fall for Rupert, the young earl, and he seems to return her feelings. But he is very poor and must have a source of money. A source which comes in the form of a fiance named Muriel, beautiful and gentle when she knows there are others looking on, but in truth a nasty and malicious... evil person. I highly recommend it, it was very, very good.

Maximum Ride- The Angel Experiment

I recently finished a very good book called Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment. It's about 6 kids named Max, Fang, Iggy, the Gasman, Nudge, and Angel, who had bird DNA grafted onto theirs. This gave them wings and lots of other abilities. Angel can read minds, Gasman can imitate anyone's voice, and so on. They are all stronger and faster than a full-grown man, but not the Erasers, which are wolf-humans that exist to kill them. They used to live in a place called the School, where various unsavory experiments were done on them, until a man named Jeb rescued them, then disappeared after living with them for 4 years. Now they are on their own, and Angel has been kidnapped by the Erasers. They must journey back to the School to find and rescue her. And do some other stuff. Like save the world- supposedly- in the later books- which I haven't read- so I don't know. Read it.

Spiderwick Chronicles The Nixie's Song

This book is the sixth book in the Spiderwick chronicles. This book is about a boy named Nick Vargas that has one brother(Julian Vargas) and now a new step sister(Laurie Vargas). They have just moved in together. Nick is not so happy about it because instead of having his own room he has to share a room with his brother Julian, because Laurie has to take his room. One day they go exploring they find a giant. It chases them for a while. Then they go to this book thing about the three kids that first discovered the mystical creatures. They get an address of a giant hunter. They go there to see if they can get some help from him because the giant breaths fire and is becoming a bog problem.When they get there something is not right. Thats it because i don't want to spoil it.

This story is about a girl who has everything going for her, until her 16th birthday. She finds out that she is really a fairy, who is allergic to metal. She is also 500-years-old, but in Fairie land, they stay the same way from their teens. She was falling for this boy in human world, but he was the servant of her old fiance, whom she was supposed to marry the night she disappeared. She has no memory of her old life whatsoever. Figure out what happens!

Then Gwnen finds out that at this time, the Hunter's Moon, the Faerie take two girls, one to be the Queen and the other to be the Sacrifice. Johnny Tremain

Johnny Tremain is a classic novel set in America during the Revolutionary War. Johnny Tremain is an apprentice silversmith who burned his hand while making a sugar basin. He finds a new job delivering papers for the Observer, a printing press, since he can't do any silversmith work because of his crippled hand. He helps the Sons of Liberty, a group of colonist that fight for liberty, with the famous "Boston Tea Party" and also helps with the civil war that then ensued between the British and the colonist. Johnny Tremain, although a fictional book with some historical facts and characters that may seem boring to some is educational and fun to read. I highly recommend it to everyone.

yea. this book is pretty good. its about a boy named johnny tremain whos parents die and is forced to live with a family called the Laphams, and become a silver smith. but then tradgty strikes. johnny's hand gets burned bad and he is maimed. that means he can't be a silver smith anymore. thats all i basically know so far but i'll probably post about later on in the story later.

Midnight Pearls by Debbie

Midnight Pearls was a book about a girl who was found by a fisherman lost in a storm who happened to stumble upon a 4 year old girl in the water. She had really light hair almost silver! And she had really pale skin you could sometimes see through it if you looked at it right. Anyway, the fisherman took her home to his wife and found that the little girl could not speak english but she had a large black pearl in her hand. The couple decided to name her Pearl and made the pearl into a necklace she could wear. Years pass and she is 17 and able to marry. She has a best friend who is the prince, and she is still trying to figure out who she is. There is alot more so read this book to find the rest.

I think you might know the Clique and the other series. Well, if you don't know, the Clique is a story about these girls who all are best friends and they always hang out, and they are the most preetiest girls in school. There clique is called the Preety Comittee. It talks about all of their problems and what happens in a girls life that also can affect on your group. So read the Clique!!! Beauty Sleep

Beauty Sleep is a book by Cameron Dokey. It is like the other books-a classic fairytale, but with a twist. As you may have guessed, it is based on the story Sleeping Beauty. There are no fairies in this tale. The magic cast upon Aurore came from two humans, and it is promising to tear the kingdom apart in the year of her sixteenth birthday, the year in which she will fall into a hundred year sleep... well, you know the rest. But in this story, Princess Aurore will refuse to sit by and be saved by another. Of course, I'm not saying what she does... Read the book to find out.

Fighting Ruben Wolfe

I recently read another book by Markus Zusak. It was called Fighting Ruben Wolfe. It was about two brothers who start to box for pay because their lower middle class family can't afford work. In the end, they will have to fight each other and find out more about themselves and what it means to be brothers. The story is narrated by Cameron Wolfe, the younger brother of Ruben Wolfe, the brother he will eventually need to fight. I really enjoyed this book, and the one following it, which is called Getting the Girl. Look for this story, all the way in the back of the library in the "Z" section.

Frightful's Mountain

This story is about a peregrine falcon named Frightful. When she was not even two weeks old, a boy named Sam, who lived in the woods, had taken her from her nest and saved her. He had raised her and trained her very well. They grew up to be close friends and they would hunt together and they shared their food. Until one day when government people game to check out the place so Frightful had to go because she couldn't be under an owner. She tries to survive by herself but her animal instincts don't kick in. She helps nurse 3 chicks, whose mother had died, with a male falcon named 426. Frightful isn't very comfortable with "mothering". During the time of her "parental work", she becomes friends with a dog named Mole who helps her gather food for her chicks. Later, she misses the migration because she had never done it before. She goes on to live at a church tower where there is an abundance of small pigeon-finches for her to feed on. Later she finally bores 3 of her own eggs with 426. But they were being nested on a bridge rail which has construction work to be done. With all the noise of drilling, pounding, and explosions she still stays put. When one hatches she names it Oski, the wide-eyed. Read this book to find out what happens to her 3 chicks! This really is an awesome book!

Breath by Donna Jo Napoli

Breath occurs during medieval times and is a great book to read even if the cover looks pretty scary and groosome. It's about a farmer boy named Salz who is "salty" or sick. He can't breath well because of his sickness and when he starts to cough he has to throw himself into a handstand to fight the cough. He doesn't drink ale (beer) like everyone else because of his sickness and is an outcast. During the summer something seems to be afflicting the livestock of Hameln, the town where Salz lives. Pretty soon parts of the animals turn black and fall of and they start to die. Then people start to act mad starting with the townsfolk. Soon the people die like the animals and they blame the rats for the disease. Salz is tried for the cause of the disease since he's sick after his grandmother was murdered. He's set free of the charges and tells of a piper he meet when he was in the woods who could free Hameln of its rats. The piper comes and frees the town but when he doesn't get paid what he was promised he starts to play his "people" music and makes the people follow him out of town but the sick and lame are sent behind. That only leaves Salz and all of the healthy children to follow the piper. It's time to pay the piper.

Demonata

The Demonata series is by Darren Shan Cirque Du Freak series. Most of the Demonata series is about a boy named Grubbs Grady. Each book is an individual story, but you have to read it in order, or the story about Grubbs wouldn't make sense. The first book, "Lord Loss", is just to get you started on the story about Grubbs. Then the next books are "the Demon Thief", "Slawter", "Bec," "Blood Beast," and "Demon Apocalypse." Judging by the titles, you would probably guess that it's a demon series. well, you guessed correctly! this series has a total of ten books, four of which hasn't come out yet. if your looking for a scare, you should totally read this series.
PS: if you think the covers look creepy...that's normal...

Golden is the story everybody knows but to a twist. It's about pregnant woman asks her husband to collect rapunzel(the herb) from a sorceress, Melisande's garden. Pretty soon Melisande found out, and she made a bargain that when the baby is born, the mother must love her even if something goes wrong and if she cannot, the baby must go to her. So the baby has been born and the mother can't stand to look at her cause she is bald. Because of their bargain, Rapunzel will now live with Melisande for the rest of her life. Read this book to find the whole story!!!

Pure Dead Briliant

Pure Dead Brilliant is the series to the books Pure Dead Magic, and Pure Dead Wicked that i told you about last time. Well, this time, the troubles are more severe and it is just... Brilliant!!! okay- so Ffup, the newly teenage dragon mother is now expierenceing mother-hood, and is well, just about hating it totally. Well, Titus finds a BAD website that can make little clones, and well, makes about oh say 5,000 of them. Each and every clone looks like him or his sister, Pandora. Actually, I skipped a little bit. First off, they are staying in an inn because a) the roof to their house is falling off, b)the expensive contractor says he needs to work with out the family near by. But what the family lacks is the knowledge that their house is under seige, so in between killing a couple of guys, giving the current guests at the inn gray hairs, they need to find a way to get back home immediately. Titus and Pandora will do what ever it takes, even if that means sneaking away in the middle of the night and disobeying their parents.

Reason Cansino is a girl who is great with numbers. She also has a grandmother she hates, and a mother who's gone crazy. She and her mother have been fleeing her grandmother, while living all over Australia. Then, she finds out that magic is real, and if you don't use it, you turn crazy. This book by Eva Ibbotson is a wonderful romantic classic. Anna, a young Russian countess, is forced to flee to England after the Russian War. However, when Anna meets him, she falls deeply in love and it appears that he returns the feelings. The only problem is that he is engaged to be married. Read "The Countess Below Stairs" to find out how Anna fares in a life of servantry she never knew exsisted. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a unique, classic novel.

A Neverland Book Escape From The Carnivale

This book is about a girl named Little Scallop. She is the daughter of the chief. She has five brothers and two sisters. She goes to the mermaid lagoon to play with her friends. They are mermaids named Aqua and Surf. They are identical twins and the only way to tell them apart is by what they put i there hair. Aqua puts seaweed in her hair because she thinks that it makes her look older and Surf puts a pink shell that has a crab in it. His name is Marvin. He sometimes changes locations on her head. When she gets to Mermaid lagoon Aqua and Surf want to get pearls. The only problem is that the only place to get the pearls is that they would have to leave the lagoon and go to Shark Cave. The mermaids are not allowed to got out of the lagoon. So they decide to sneak out that night and go to Shark Cave. When they go they get stuck in a huge storm that makes t so that they do not know where the island is. They get lost but then they come by a ship. They decide to back to the island but then Surf get caught in a net that they have put in the water and she gets captured. Little Scallop and Aqua race back to tell the other mermaids and her father what happened. When Little Scallop gets back to her village it is deserted because they entire village went up the mountain for a special ceremony. So little Scallop and Aqua have to find out how to get Surf back. I am not going to finish because you will not read the book. It is an awsome book and there is another book.

The Last Dog on Earth

The disease P.O.S. (pronounced paws) has spread through the whole state of Oregon. It is a disease that dogs and humans can get, the disease is totally fatal. Because of its effects, many people are going around shooting, stabbing and killing any dog they see in their sight. The effects of P.O.S. (Or Psychotic Outburst Syndrome) on dogs is, at first, the dogs become very weak, motionless, and frail. Then, right before it's last moments the dog becomes psychotic and deranged, chasing after the closest living creature and either scratching, biting, or even killing it. This is how the disease gets passed on, especially to humans. Now, in the state of Oregon, the disease has started to move through out different towns wiping out dogs, and humans. Logan Moore, a 13 year old, who hates almost everything, especially his stepfather who wants to control him, is given a dog to take care of.  So this is the journey of Logan and his dog, Jack. After blowing up a microwave at a nearby store because the owner had let his dog out to chase after Jack, Logan gets sent to this Blue Mountain Camp for Boys. After a couple days at camp without Jack, Logan runs away. In the forest Logan finds Jack who, after being locked up in Logan's basement for many days dug her way out, found him forty miles from home. Then Logan was at the Police Station for shoplifting because he and Jack had no food. Meanwhile Jack was attacked by a people who thought she had had P.O.S. When Logan runs away from the station he finds Jack torn up and almost dead. With Logan reuniting with his father, he and Jack are soon sent to Portland University to be researched. Read the end of this book by Daniel Ehrenhaft and find out the ending. Its very sad.

The tail of Emily Windsnap is a book about a girl named Emily Windsnap who lives with her mother on a boat. The reason they are on a boat, I have no idea but her mom dosen't like water at all!!!! Can you imagine that, a person who hates water but lives basically right above it. Anyway Emily goes to a new school and she starts swimming and thats when the problem starts. Is she just your average 7th grade girl or is there something hidden. Read this book!!! Awesome!!!!!!!

Pure Dead Magic

Pandora, Titus, and Damp are about to go on an amazing adventure wether they know it or not. Pandora, Titus and Damp are not like any other kids you would normally meet or find. They scare every single one of them away, except for Mrs. Mclachlen. She has a special make up case that seems to fix every thing. So with the new nanny, Pandora Titus and Damp are off on an adventure to go and resucue their father no matter what.

Hester Prynne is accused of adultery and is forced to stand on the scaffold in the middle of town holding her baby and wearing the scarlet letter on her bosom as her punishment. She hoped the father of her child would come forward but he never did. People gossiped about her but over the years she gained some respect. Hester named her daughter Pearl. I would tell you more but then I would give away a lot of the rest of the plot! You're just gonna have to read to figure out what happens.
