The Alchemyst is about twins, Sophie and Josh Newman helping Nicholas Flamel find the Book of Abraham the Mage. It is the most powerful book that has ever existed, it's secret and his cna end the world. An evil necromancer, Dr. John Dee, stole the book, and kidnapped Nicholas' beloved wife. He and his wife have only lived through the past 700 years because every month they make the elixir; at the end of the month, if the elixir is not drunk, they will wither away and die. It is up to Sophie, Josh, and Nicholas to save the world, and his and his wife's lives.
